Hirst Pipe Mold Terrain

The 5th ed 40K rules put a new spin on terrain building.  LOS now strictly governs what a model can see.  Area terrain, the abstract fuzzy space of trees or ruins on a platter, is gone.  The solution adopted by Adepticon is to place all terrain objects on 3 inch disks with matching sockets in a MDF base.  The Hirst Arts Pipe molds, along with the Sci Fi molds, provide an excellent resource to build all the required objects.

This is all pretty, pretty stuff! I really like the way you incorporate the pipe molds with the multiple sci-fi molds too!

If you’re reading this and don’t want to dive into the cost of multiple Hirst Arts molds this year, please try some pre-cast blocks from a licensed retailer. I run HigherGroundGames.com and have blocks from both pipe molds, and many of the Sci-Fi molds available right now for $2.00 a set.

Wow, those are very cool. I haven’t used my Hirst arts stuff to make ruins as much as I thought I would, but this set really makes sense to me.

Hello, This is Brett from Capital City Games in Springfield. I was just going through a box of this stuff earlier tonight and it will be awesome on some of the City Fight tables. Can’t wait to start putting some of them together and getting them painted up. Will try and get pics up on AWC soon
